Speculation Rises Over a Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Bid

Congressman Ron Paul launched what was deemed a grass roots revolution in 2008 for the Presidency. He brought people into the process that would have otherwise stayed at and sat on their sofa. It now appears that speculation is beginning to brew over a potential 2012 run for the Presidency by Congressman Paul.

The Congressman has lined up speaking engagements in Iowa and South Carolina, which are two key states in the nominating process. CNN and the L.A. Times are also reporting on this speculation:

L.A. Times:  Tuesday it was announced that Texas Republican Ron Paul, who wowed the Libertarian crowd during the 2008 election with his call for limited government, is set to deliver an address at the University of South Carolina on Nov. 9 about the “future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution.”

As if that were not enough, the following week he's scheduled to speak in Iowa, that pivotal early caucus state, with stops in Ames and Des Moines.

By this morning speculation was rife that South Carolina, which holds one of the early primaries in the presidential calendar, could be the launching pad for a new Ron Paul bid.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Will Ron Paul give it another go in 2012?
The Texas congressman and hero of limited government advocates will visit the key early primary state of South Carolina on Nov. 9 to deliver a speech "on the future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution" at the University of South Carolina, student groups said Tuesday. The announcement comes a week after Paul scheduled a visit to Iowa on Nov. 13 to speak to students at Iowa State University.
Lets just say that this website is on the wagon for a Ron Paul 2012 bid, and will do everything we can to get him elected to the White House.

Heck...my car is already sporting the sticker!

This country is ready for the Ron Paul Revolution and it desperately needs the ideas that is brings about to fix the problems we face.

Needless to say, it will be a great debate to watch, between Paul and Obama. The President doesn't know what might be coming for him...

  1. If Ron Paul tries for the Republican nomination again instead of running either as a Libertarian or as an independent, Then he is just wasting our time. Huckabee would be much more likely to get the republican nomination. As an independent, Paul might win. However, He likely would have won last time had he pursued the independent or accepted the invitation from the Libertarian party to run as a Libertarian. imagine if he had split both parties last time. If he had not won, we would still have a Democrat as a president. There fore the lousy argument that you should never vote for a third party because it will cause the Democrats to win does not hold up. I hope this time when the US votes we will all vote for issues. Less government might be a good issue. How about more spending cuts by the government? I would be ecstatic if the issue were HR 25 which will bring more industry to the US, cut taxes and provide more jobs. Then, if we can cut government spending too, we would actually have something.

  2. Well if Ron Paul ran on a third party ticket in the beginning of 2008 election season. He would have never been in the debates and no one would have heard of him. And if he switched to 3rd party after the primaries, he would have been denied by many states from being on the ballot because many states have loser laws, that if you run as a Democrat or a Republican in the Primary, you can't have a second try at the office on a 3rd Party or Independent ticket.

Plus if he switched to 3rd party, he probably wont be in Congress right now either.

  3. I am convinced that Ron Paul running as a Republican was the best option for him the past election. I don't think running as a republican is a bad idea. It will get him the most exposure.

  5. As long as society fails, government will also. We could have a horrible government with a great society, and it would still work. People think they have a right to vote for anything... You have no right to vote for something wrong, you only have the right to make the decision... you have no right to fail. Currently democracy is the most important thing in this country, what happened to freedom and justice? As long as those are second place, it just doesn't matter.
