A Bill to let Big Government Control Your Salary

Last week the congress, in an effort to take back the bonuses of AIG executives, tried to tax the bonuses 90%, but they have backed off this attempt, and are now focusing on another Socialistic approach to controlling business.

In an article written by Byron York in the Washington Examiner, he talks about an effort to pass legislation that would stipulate the performance of every employee in a bailed out company, and control their salaries:

In a little-noticed move, the House Financial Services Committee, led by chairman Barney Frank, has approved a measure that would, in some key ways, go beyond the most draconian features of the original AIG bill. The new legislation, the "Pay for Performance Act of 2009," would impose government controls on the pay of all employees -- not just top executives -- of companies that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government. It would, like the tax measure, be retroactive, changing the terms of compensation agreements already in place. And it would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American companies.

I fret everyday when reading about this Administration. Talk about Totalitarian government!

Socialism starts when the Government chooses to run corporations, and with a bill like this, it will lead to Communism because they will eventually make the pay of everybody equal in an effort to "be fair."

I can't believe how fast we are moving in this direction. I knew it would happen, but I didn't believe it would happen this fast. This President is still in his first 100 Days, and already he has dramatically changed to direction of this country.

It almost seems like his goal is to strip the American people of any freedom they might have; especially with proposals like this one.

I Thought Obama Was Going to Change U.S. Foreign Policy?

Barack Obama pledge throughout the campaign for the Presidency in 2008 that he would repair the image of America throughout the world, and end George W. Bush's reckless adventures in the War on Terror.

However, the Change that was promised by Obama, is not what most people were expecting when they voted for him. The world still hates us, and they are reserved about President Obama. We are still in Iraq, and expanding our presence in Afghanistan.

Watch this video from Reason T.V. to see what I am talking about:

All that President Obama did, was change the focus of the War on Terror back to Afghanistan. He is committing more money, and more soldiers to the effort; something he rallied against in the Iraq Theater.

While I believe the time has come to pull out of the region, it is apparent, that President Obama is the same as President Bush. He was the typical politician that lied to get elected and went back on all his promises.

In Hollywood You're a Racist if You Disagree With Obama

There is a story on Foxnews.com which discusses Angie Harmon, who stared in Law and Order, and her disagreement with the Obama Administration's handling of the current crisis.

Apparently in Tinseltown, if you disagree with Obama, you are labeled a racist:

Angie Harmon is not afraid to come out and say she doesn’t like how President Obama is handling the job — but she’s sick of having to defend herself from being deemed a racist.

The forces of Hollywood are so powerful, that true conservatives, or people who disagree with the liberal agenda, are chastised for their opinions. And in the case of Angie Harmon, she is deemed a racist for expressing disagreement with the first black President of the United States.

She is quoted as saying:

"Here's my problem with this, I'm just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist,"

What I get from this actress is the practice of labeling Hollywood stars racist is common and it is being done by members of the Hollywood community.

There are a few Hollywood stars who have expressed their political opinions, and have suffered consequences. The most recent example was Jon Voight, and the studio executives proclaimed he wouldn't set foot on another movie set for having a conservative philosophy.

If you think about it, it is employment harassment for political opinions, but you would never see the Justice Department step in to help out the conservative actors. If it was the other way around, it might be a little different, especially with this Administration.

Glenn Beck the New Sensation in Conservatism

I first became a fan of Glenn Beck about 3 years ago when I started listening to this radio program, and watching his show on CNN. He, and Ron Paul, are the reason for my transformation back to true Conservatism, and the fundamental idea of individual liberty. As Ronald Reagan use to say "The Very Heart and Soul of Conservatism is Libertarianism."

The New York Times has taken an interest into this stunning rise once Beck switched to Fox News. They report the following:

Mr. Beck, an early-evening host on the Fox News Channel, is suddenly one of the most powerful media voices for the nation’s conservative populist anger. Barely two months into his job at Fox, his program is a phenomenon: it typically draws about 2.3 million viewers, more than any other cable news host except Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity, despite being on at 5 p.m., a slow shift for cable news.

He echoes the sentiment of the American people that are angry of the way they are being treated for the expense of the privileged few:

“The truth is — that you are the defender of liberty,” he said. “It’s not the government. It’s not an army or anybody else. It’s you. This is your country.”

What they fail to miss is Glenn Becks transformation into a more Libertarian mindset, and beyond what Conservatism is today. He realizes that true Conservatism rests in the ability to individualize liberty, and not allow the government to control every single aspect of our lives, and our decisions as individuals.

The story by the NYT also mentions the critics that label him a nut, and a champion for armed revolution, and he responded as such:

Sitting in his corner office overlooking Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, Mr. Beck rejected such charges but acknowledged that some people see sinister meanings in his commentaries. He said the people “who are spreading the garbage that I’m stirring up a revolution haven’t watched the show.”

All in all, it is apparent that Glenn Beck is becoming a leader in the movement into Libertarianism, despite if a lot of so called "True" Libertarians don't think Beck is fundamental yet, but it is somebody like Glenn Beck that will transform how people think and realize the true principles of this country.

Who Cares if Joe Biden's Daughter Snorted Coke?

It is not often I will defend somebody associated with the Obama Administration, but this is something that goes against principle.

There is a story out there that is talking about a friend of Ashley Biden, Vice President Biden's daughter, and how this friend is shopping around a video of her snorting Cocaine.

He was reportedly asking for $2 Million, and her is the story from the New York Post:

A "friend" of Vice President Joseph Biden's daughter, Ashley, is attempting to hawk a videotape that he claims shows her snorting cocaine at a house party this month in Delaware.

The video, which the shooter initially hoped to sell for $2 million before scaling back his price to $400,000, shows a 20-something woman with light skin and long brown hair taking a red straw from her mouth, bending over a desk, inserting the straw into her nostril and snorting lines of white powder.

First off, if this story turns out to be true, the media will have a frenzy, and the nuts on the right side of the isle will go crazy. They will claim that it is a disgrace on the part of Joe Biden, and his family, and they will try and take him down.

I say, who cares if she snorted coke. It was the same thing with Michael Phelps and his pot smoking. These individuals are responsible for their own bodies, and they have a right to have fun, and sometimes trash their bodies.

Anybody who tries to take this issue head on and demand apologies, or resignations, are just a bunch of hypocrites, because they have these skeletons in their closets as well, they just need to open the door, and look real hard.

Germans Stop the Global New Deal

We have talked about the Global New Deal on this website many times. It was first proposed by Gordon Brown of England, and he planned to introduce it at the G-20 summit.

But European Leaders stopped his plans to stimulate the world in an effort to kill the global recession. The leader of this movement was German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

From the UK Times:

GORDON BROWN’S carefully laid plans for a G20 deal on worldwide tax cuts have been scuppered by an eve-of-summit ambush by European leaders.

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, last night led the assault on the prime minister’s “global new deal” for a $2 trillion-plus fiscal stimulus to end the recession.

“I will not let anyone tell me that we must spend more money,” she said.

The Spanish finance minister, Pedro Solbes, also dismissed new cash being pledged at Thursday’s London summit.

“In these conditions I and the rest of my colleagues from the eurozone believe there is no room for new fiscal stimulus plans,” he said.

This is a good first step, but this is not the end of the struggle to prevent the fall of Capitalism in exchange for Communism.

Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president:

has insisted that “radical reform” of capitalism is more important than tax cutting.

This idea is not going away. There is still a movement to globalize the world, and use the same currency, and be run by a world government.

The Chinese and the Russian Governments will not stop for the global currency, but this move by the Germans, and other European countries, puts a road block on the path of Communistic control over the world.

Gitmo Detainees to Get Welfare?

Not a day goes by without something stupid coming out of the Obama Administration that makes my head explode.

Now a new story is coming out about the Gitmo Detainees, that are going to be released, will wind up in the United States, and could actually receive Welfare.

From the Weekly Standard:

During his news conference, Blair also said the Obama administration is still wrestling with what to do with the remaining 240 detainees at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, which the president has ordered closed.

Some of the detainees, deemed non-threatening, may be released into the United States as free men, Blair confirmed.

That would happen when they can't be returned to their home countries, because the governments either won't take them or the U.S. fears they will be abused or tortured. That is the case with 17 Uighurs (WEE'-gurz), Chinese Muslim separatists who were cleared for release from the jail long ago. The U.S. can't find a country willing to take them, and it will not turn them over to China.

Blair said the former prisoners would have [to] get some sort of assistance to start their new lives in the United States.

“We can't put them out on the street,” he said.

I am not going to say much, because my head is about to explode.

I just can't believe we will give aid and comfort to our enemies...the Constitution calls this Treason.

When is the Revolution to take back our country?

United States Senate to Review How College Football Picks their No. 1

We are in the worst financial crisis in a very long time. We are on the verge of double digit unemployment, and double digit inflation, but there are other important matters for our Government to take a stab at:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Everyone from President Barack Obama on down to fans has criticized how college football determines its top team. Now senators are getting off the sidelines to examine antitrust issues involving the Bowl Champion Series.

The current system "leaves nearly half of all the teams in college football at a competitive disadvantage when it comes to qualifying for the millions of dollars paid out every year," the Senate Judiciary's subcommittee on antitrust, competition policy and consumer rights said in a statement Wednesday announcing the hearings.

Instead of fixing the country, and all the problems we are currently facing, the United States Senate is going to examine how College Football picks its number 1...is this a joke???

Apparently it is not a joke, and these goons in Washington are serious.

Here is more:

Obama and some members of Congress favor a playoff-type system to determine the national champion. The BCS features a championship game between the two top teams in the BCS standings, based on two polls and six computer ratings.

I am just flabbergasted by reading, and writing this. What it all proves is the disregard the politicians in Washington have for the American People, and preserving our free system of government.

When is the Revolution again?

Treasury Secretary Open to World Currency

Talk of a Global World Government has been sparking a lot of attention, and this site has been following it closely. The discussion of a global currency has been running strong in countries such as Germany, and China, and it now looks like the United States Secretary of the Treasury is a fan as well.

From the Politico
:

Geithner, at the Council on Foreign Relations, said the U.S. is "open" to a headline-grabbing proposal by the governor of the China's central bank, which was widely reported as being a call for a new global currency to replace the dollar, but which Geithner described as more modest and "evolutionary."

As I have said before, this is the worst idea to solve a global financial crisis, and it pretty much seals the fate of the United States as a sovereign power.

By allowing ourselves to tangle in the idea of world government, we give up any Liberty and any Freedom we might have, and prohibit us from gaining anymore in the near future.

The Obama Administration is on the verge of selling us to the highest bidder, and sacrificing every thing our founding fathers set forth in this great nation.

A Gobal Leader, and Global currency will be the end of Liberty as we know it. We will be ruled by one supreme commander of the world, and fall into a thousand years of darkness.

**********UPDATE***********

Geithner, not the only one...another Obama economic adviser:

But Geithner wasn't the only top Obama adviser who refused to rule out a transition to a global currency. White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee said much the same thing yesterday afternoon in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Although he characterized such a change as "unlikely," Goolsbee twice declined to rule out such a global currency despite being pressed by Blitzer. "I haven't seen the details of the proposal," Goolsbee said.

Obama a Hypocrite on the Economy

I am not the only one calling President Obama a hypocrite when it comes to the economy...the Associated Press is doing it as well:

THE CLAIM: "We will recover from this recession. But it will take time, it will take patience, and it will take an understanding that when we all work together, when each of us looks beyond our own short-term interests to the wider set of obligations we have to each other, that's when we succeed."

THE FACTS: No one really knows when the recession will end. But Obama's own budget forecasts the recession will continue through this year but with a relatively shallow 1.2 percent decline in the gross domestic product.

Then, the budget predicts solid 3.2 percent growth for 2010, followed by three years of more than 4 percent growth each year.

Christina Romer, head of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, said this week she was "incredibly confident" the U.S. economy will recover within a year.

Congressional Republicans and some Democratic budget hawks have suggested the Obama budget projections are unduly optimistic to make the math to pay for the president's programs work. The higher the GDP growth, the more tax revenues come in.

Meanwhile, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office last week predicted that the Obama budget would produce deficits averaging nearly $1 trillion over the next decade.

He talks one way on the economy, and does something totally different that advances his liberal agenda. It is a sideshow to say that he cares about the free market, because any smart person that watches this will realize the hypocrisy in his rhetoric.

President Obama is destroying the country, and I am not afraid to say it...especially when I might be considered by the government to be part of a militia, because I have Libertarian tendencies, and support Congressman Ron Paul.

Ron Paul on the Root of the Problem

Congressman Ron Paul has been a figure head for the liberty movement, and sound monetary policy that allows free markets to flourish without interference from Government.

In this video he gets to the root of the current financial problem:

This man should have been President of the United States...if he was, we would be on our way to total recovery and prosperity.

The Crisis Has Just Begun

While watching the news this past week, you might think we are coming out of this economic crisis. The stock market has risen into the 7,000 territory, but I take the approach of Glenn Beck, and many economists, that we are in a Bear Rally.

Peter Schiff, President of Euro Pacific Capital, who was Ron Paul's economic adviser during the campaign, and who predicted this collapse, thinks otherwise.

He believes the crisis has just begun:

Ron Paul on the Glenn Beck Radio Show 3/23/2009

Today Congressman Ron Paul appeared on the Glenn Beck Radio Show.

It is about time that America started listening to this man...

Part 1

Who's in to stop this madness??

What Does $1 Trillion Look Like?

Glenn Beck gives us a look at the huge number comparatively:

Scary right?

Protesters Focus Anger on AIG, but Why Not the Ones that Gave Them the Money?

In the past week or so, many Americans have expressed anger over the bonuses taken by AIG executives. Protesters have focused their attention AIG itself, seemingly ignoring the fact that it was Congress which made those bonuses possible by propping up the company with taxpayer dollars.

One group upset about the bonuses even went so far as to visit the homes of executives who had recieved bonuses:

About 40 protesters sought to urge AIG executives who received a portion of the $165 million in bonuses to do more to help families. “We think $165 million could be used in a more appropriate way to keep people in their homes, create more jobs and health care,” said Emeline Bravo-Blackport, a gardener.

But here is the question…why are they not turning their anger to the people who gave AIG the money? The government used tax dollars to reward failure, and protesters should direct their anger toward members of the administration and Congress who supported the bailout.

In contrast to those who simply attack AIG, the tea party protesters are true patriots, realizing as they do that even though AIG was wrong in handing out bonuses, the government is truly at fault. This situation provides yet another demonstration of the poor consequences which come of government intervention in the market.

Anger is brewing in the American public, but it is now critical that this anger is focused in the right direction.

This is the task of the R3volution.

D.C. Defies Constitution__As If They Never Have

The Senate is on the verge of passing the most unconstitutional bill in United States history. This bill is so obvious with its disregard to what the Constitution says, the Congress has taken a whole new step.

They are going to give the delegates, that don't have voting power, to the United States House of Representatives, voting power. The Constitution is pretty explicit when it comes to who gets the right to be represented in Congress...only STATES!

Just proves any way they can obtain power to control our lives. When is the Revolution again?

Ron Paul Supporters are Milita Members?

Just when you thought things couldn't get weirder, they always do.

A new report from MIAC implicates libertarians, and third parties as likely members of a militia.

Check out this video with Glenn Beck and Penn Jillette:

So, to disagree with solidified Washington politics, you are deemed a domestic enemy of the state?

Top 5 Gaffes by Obama Administration

Such a great start to a Presidency... (Brought to you by the UK Telegraph)

1. The latest one takes the biscuit. Barack Obama jokes about the disabled on the Jay Leno show. Afterwards, he calls the head of the Special Olympics to apologise:

2. Joe Biden tells a former Senate colleague who addresses him as "Mr Vice-President" to "give me a f---ing break":

3. Gordon Brown presents the new President with: a pen holder carved from the timbers of HMS Gannett, a sister ship of HMS Resolute; the commissioning certificate of HMS Resolute; and a seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill. In return, the Prime minister gets 25 DVDS, which don't work in Britain:

4. A Marine One double. First, on his maiden Marine One trip Obama breaches protocol and makes life uncomfortable for an enlisted marine by shaking the the serviceman's hand as he's saluting his commander-in-chief:

5. Joe Biden jokes about Chief Justice John Roberts fluffing the inauguration oath. The president is visibly annoyed with his veep and Biden later apologises:

Aren't you so glad we elected these buffoons to the White House, but if it were George W. Bush, or any other Republican, it would lead the evening news.

Sarah Palin Rejects Half of Stimulus Money

Props to the Governor of Alaska for rejecting about half of the stimulus money allocated for the State of Alaska.

It is a good sign to see so many Governors of States rejecting this money that will hurt the economy even more, and put more strain on the states to subject themselves to the federal government.

However, more and more it is looking like Sarah Palin is not going to go far as a candidate for the Presidency, but that is a whole other story.

The Obama Teleprompter's Blog

Now this is too funny...there is a new blog out there titled "Barack Obama's Teleprompter's Blog: Reflections from the hard drive of the machine that enables the voice of the Leader of the Free World."

This is their first post:

Well, last night didn't go well. What can I say? I was tired. By the time Barack and the Irish PM stood up, the President and I had already done two major policy speeches, three nomination announcements, and light dinner banter for a table of twelve. And by the way, that "ad lib" last night about Guinness? Mine.

So why am I going public now, when for the past two years I've let others do the talking? Well, this is a thankless job, and I sure don't want to take the fall for communications missteps. But more important, I expect you'll be seeing a lot more of me over the next few months and years. Barack and I don't go anywhere without each other; we even complete each other's sentences ... well, more mine than his, but let's not split hairs.

I sense new text being loaded now, so I'll have to be going.

Looks like the same guy that wrote for Ron Burgundy...
