In an article written by Byron York in the Washington Examiner, he talks about an effort to pass legislation that would stipulate the performance of every employee in a bailed out company, and control their salaries:
In a little-noticed move, the House Financial Services Committee, led by chairman Barney Frank, has approved a measure that would, in some key ways, go beyond the most draconian features of the original AIG bill. The new legislation, the "Pay for Performance Act of 2009," would impose government controls on the pay of all employees -- not just top executives -- of companies that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government. It would, like the tax measure, be retroactive, changing the terms of compensation agreements already in place. And it would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American companies.
I fret everyday when reading about this Administration. Talk about Totalitarian government!
Socialism starts when the Government chooses to run corporations, and with a bill like this, it will lead to Communism because they will eventually make the pay of everybody equal in an effort to "be fair."
I can't believe how fast we are moving in this direction. I knew it would happen, but I didn't believe it would happen this fast. This President is still in his first 100 Days, and already he has dramatically changed to direction of this country.
It almost seems like his goal is to strip the American people of any freedom they might have; especially with proposals like this one.
