This is a man that people really need to start listening to...he has the right ideas and shines the philosophy of Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater.

  2. these are great men but I wouldn't compare Paul to Reagan or Goldwater because Reagan excercised Judeo-Christian principles with in government which is what we need with the left wanting gay marriage and abortions

  3. ^^^^who cares about gay marriage and abortion, its non of our business and if u were a true conservative u'd get that...dont u see, u r the "new right" religious crazies who are the cancer to the conservative movement...not that being religious is bad, but trying to legislate morally is by definition contradictory to the fundamental tenants of classical liberalism and the concept of American freedom

  4. When will this country WAKE UP? It is not a left/right issue anymore. It is about ending the FEDERAL RESERVE criminal cartel that is robbing us blind. They have us fighting about abortion and gay rights while they run out the back door with TRILLIONS. If we can end the fed the left/right issues will work themselves out. If there is a congressman or senator that voted for the bailouts vote them out. How hard is that?

  5. If "abortion is none of our business", then murder and all laws that protect human life and physical well being are none of our business.

  6. Abortion violates the Natural Rights of the baby . . . gay marriage is none of the governments business . . .

Abortion is still a matter for states, not the federal government . . . murder laws are created and enforced at the state level . . .

  7. While a agree with Ron Paul on some things, it makes me feel like I worry about his international policies on national security - and have since he spoke in the campaign! We need a balanced mix!

  8. "We need a balanced mix!"

Yes... compromise freedom with slavery. Great ideas. Compromise compromise compromise.

Paul is about taking power from the fed. If you want abortion illegal, do it in your state. If you want drugs illegal, do it in your state. If you want gay marriage illegal. Do it in your state. The more power you give the fed, the less freedom we'll have, because you can leave the country, there's no where else to go... but you can leave a state.

  9. I agree regarding States rights but that wasn't the the intent of the poster saying that abortion isn't our business because it is. At what level, state or federal, is of less concern than the fact that we are allowing the wholesale slaughter of human beings in our "civilized" nation.

  10. Many libertarian ideas are correct with regard to government involvement in things that are not ascribed to them by the Constitution. However, many libertarians choose not to take into consideration those things that IS government's "business"; that is, the protection of the People. Hence, abortion is in fact something with which government should get involved. Killing innocent human beings FOR WHATEVER REASON is counter to Jefferson's dictum that the only reason government has for existence is to protect its citizens. Likewise, traditional marriage is the foundation of the family and the family is the foundation of civilization. So when government either assists or ignores such "new concepts" (and there's nothing "new" about them) as "gay marriage" or fails to protect unborn children, then government is failing just as much as it is failing today no matter how much support it gives the "free market".

There is a place for government. Libertarians are wrong to believe that it has no part in protecting its citizens and the culture upon which the nation was founded. All that sort of thinking leads to is the survival of the fittest which I don't recall being the principle of the Founding Fathers.
